Dr. Shahi Md. Tanvir Alam, originally from Bangladesh, earned his Ph.D. in Economics in 2024 from the University of Szeged, Hungary, supported by the Stipendium Hungaricum (SH) full scholarship. Due to his research excellence, he received SZTE Doctoral excellence+ scholarship in 2024. His doctoral research focused on modeling renewable energy auctions, aligning with his broader vision of promoting affordable green energy solutions in developing countries. Dr. Tanvir holds a bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Khulna University, Bangladesh as well as a master’s degree in economics from Jahangirnagar University in Savar, Bangladesh. Professionally, he brings extensive experience, including approximately seven years in a multinational telecommunications firm and over twelve years with Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission. His academic interests encompass energy economics, renewable energy auction design, energy policy, regulation, and development. To date, he has published ten peer-reviewed journal articles, contributed to two book chapters, and two academic conferences. Driven by a strong passion for education, Dr. Tanvir served as a teaching assistant at the University of Szeged between 2021 and 2024, where he conducted courses and supervised postgraduate theses. He obtained training related to energy regulation, energy management and energy policy from USA, Russia, China and Thailand. As of July 1, 2025, he is engaged as a visiting researcher in the Regional Innovation Strategy of the Moravian-Silesian Region 2021+ (RIS MSR 2021+) project.
