The 11th edition of the traditional sporting event “Run with the Dean” attracted a record number of runners this year. Approximately 150 adults and 70 children lined up at the starting line, exceeding all our expectations.

This year, we established a collaboration with the athletics club TJ Jäkl Karviná, which contributed to the organisation of the event. The program began at University Square, where participants registered. Shortly before the start, runners warmed up together under the guidance of coaches from TJ Jäkl Karviná to get ready for the race.

At 16:40 all participants set off on the route, which led through the Spa Park, Božena Němcová Park, and ended at Lodičky. For children, a colorful program was prepared at Lodičky from 16:00 – they could take part in simple competitions and enjoy face painting. After all adult runners finished, the children had their turn, running a shorter route around the Lodičky area. The entire event concluded with an award ceremony for the winners. An exciting new feature was the first edition of the Student Running Race. Students competed based on their study programs, and the final times were averaged. This year, the trophy was claimed by students of the Digital Business program.
