I was fortunate enough to participate in not just one, but two Erasmus exchanges – one in Bremen, Germany, and the second in Bratislava, Slovakia. These experiences shaped my outlook on life, broadened my horizons, and provided memories that I will cherish forever.
My Erasmus experience started in Bremen, Germany, a city known for its history, beautiful buildings, and active student life. Studying there was life changing. The German education system focused on independent learning and research, which was different from what I was used to. I participated in group discussions and projects, improving my critical thinking. Working with international students from places like Spain, Italy, and Brazil helped me understand different cultures and improved my communication skills. I adapted to a new culture and language, learning German to connect with locals. Though homesickness was difficult, I found support among fellow Erasmus students. By the end, I had become more independent, confident, and open-minded, learning to embrace new challenges.
Participating in two Erasmus exchanges in Bremen and Bratislava significantly impacted my personal and academic development. Key takeaways included cultural awareness, independence, international friendships, improved language skills, and career development. Living in diverse countries taught me appreciation for traditions, challenges, and self-reliance. The experiences also strengthened my CV and provided valuable academic insights.
