On December 2, our students had the unique chance to experience one of the
Czech Republic's beloved traditions, the St. Nicholas Day. This festive
occasion, marking the season of Advent, brought a warm and cheerful atmosphere
to our university, as students learned about Czech customs while sharing their
own holiday traditions.
The highlight of the event was, of course, the arrival of St. Nicholas,
accompanied by the angel and the devil. True to tradition, they didn’t come
empty-handed! Students had to complete fun and creative tasks pulled from St.
Nicholas’s sock to earn their rewards. Everyone enthusiastically participated,
adding to the lively and festive mood.
Delicious traditional Czech Advent treats, including sweet braided bread and
Christmas cookies, were served, along with mulled wine to warm the hearts of
all attendees. The event created a perfect blend of cultural Exchange and
laughter, making it a memorable experience for all.
We are thrilled to have brought together students from different cultures to
celebrate this cherished tradition. Thank you to everyone who participated and
made this event so special!
Stay tuned for more cultural events to come!
