Daniel Stavárek (1978) absolvoval navazující magisterský obor Bankovnictví (2001), doktorský obor Finance (2004) a habilitoval se v oboru Finance, bankovnictví a investování (2007). V roce 2013 byl prezidentem republiky jmenován profesorem v oboru Ekonomika a management. Vyučuje předměty zaměřené na finance, mezinárodní finance a finanční řízení na všech stupních studia.

Na Obchodně podnikatelské fakultě v Karviné působí od roku 2001, přičemž od roku 2008 vede katedru financí a účetnictví. V letech 2015-2023 působil jako děkan fakulty. Nyní zastává roli garanta doktorského studijního programu Ekonomika a management / Economics and Management. V letech 2023-2025 vykonával funkci prorektora Slezské univerzity v Opavě pro oblast vědy a zahraničních styků. Od roku 2021 působí jako člen Steering Commitee univerzitní aliance STARS EU.

Výzkumnou činnost směřuje převážně do oblasti mezinárodních financí, finančního managementu a bankovnictví.

Daniel Stavárek (1978) graduated with a Master's degree in Banking (2001), a Ph.D. in Finance (2004) and a Habilitation in Finance, Banking and Investment (2007). In 2013, he was appointed Professor of Economics and Management by the President of Czechia. He teaches courses focused on finance, international finance and financial management at all levels of study.

He has been working at the School of Business Administration in Karviná since 2001, and since 2008 he has been the Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting. From 2015 to 2023, he served as Dean of the Faculty. He is currently the Guarantor of the doctoral study programme Economics and Management. From 2023 to 2025 he was the Vice Rector of the Silesian University in Opava for Science and International Relations. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Steering Committee of STARS EU - a European University Alliance.

His research activities are mainly in the field of international finance, financial management and banking.
