Dr. Aleksandra Nocoń, PhD, from the Department of Banking and Financial Markets at the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland, recently completed a productive short-term research stay at the Department of Finance and Accounting from November 15 to 23, 2024. The visit involved engaging with both institutions’ academic and research framework, exchanging knowledge on banking, monetary policy, and sustainable development, and presenting a seminar on "Interest Rate Policy Normalization: Premises, Scenarios, and Mechanisms."
A key achievement of the stay was the initiation of joint research focusing on ESG and sustainable development activities in the Polish and Czech banking sectors. This collaboration is set to yield publications in prominent journals and presentations at international conferences, such as the International Conference on Finance and Banking in 2025 by our department. Plans for further cooperation, including joint publications, seminars and extended research stays, were also outlined.
