On 11 - 15 October, we once again took part in the global celebration of the largest international education programme Erasmus+ to promote international mobility and European citizenship.

The aim of these celebrations is to raise the profile of the activities and projects implemented under the Erasmus+ programme and to inform the public about its opportunities and positive benefits. Thousands of schools and other educational organisations across Europe shared their experiences and learnings from exchanges and international cooperation projects, this year for the seventh time already. Czechia was among the ten most active countries. A total of 53 countries in Europe and overseas participated. Most events took place in Turkey, France and Spain (erasmusdays.eu).

This year, the International Relations Office prepared a rich programme for students from 11 to 15 October. On Wednesday 11 October, students could participate in a large number of activities. In the foyer of the faculty, a workshop on international mobility took place. Students learned about studies abroad, BIPs (Blended Intensive Programmes - combination of virtual and short-term physical mobility) and internships. The students who have participated in Erasmus shared their experiences from their stays. We listened to stories from Malta, Gdansk, Braganca, Siena or Cartagena. Students also set up country stands with refreshments and a quiz for prizes. The day ended with our legendary "International night" party organized by the student initiative "Inflace", where international students presented not only their national dishes, but also their talents in the form of national dances and songs.

On Thursday, a workshop on study abroad was held once again, this time in English, as our international degree-seeking students also have the opportunity to study abroad. In the evening, students and alumni were invited to the national event International Student and Alumni Meetup Ostrava, which took place for the first time ever in Czechia at the new City Campus of the University of Ostrava.

On Friday, fans of adrenaline and unexpected adventures came into their own when the participants went on a weekend trip to Janik's saddle near Kopřivnice. In cooperation with Mr. Kantor from the NGO Petrklíč Help and our international student Sampras Femi Robert from the student club - The Talk Club, students volunteered to prepare a local hut for the winter by stocking wood, together they prepared an Indian national dish and discussed environmental topics etc.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone involved for great cooperation and work commitment. See you again next year!
