The WDs were organized on 15-17 February with great help of our international buddy team. The international buddy team includes both Czech and international students from countries such as India, Morocco and Bangladesh, who were able to experience the integration process first-hand and can therefore relate to the new students and their questions perfectly. The buddy team consists of 32 students in this summer semester - a record number of students got involved this time. During the event, we welcomed 12 new international students (both Erasmus+ and degree students), mostly from Turkey and India. Yet, we are continuously coordinating arrivals of other international students who will be enrolling in study up until March 20. Besides India and Turkey, we are expecting students from Morocco, Nigeria, Bangladesh or Pakistan.

The Welcome Days included events for our international students, such as a trip to the city on the two banks of the river Olše - "Těšín", which was carried out on Wednesday. In Těšín, students had the opportunity to try ice skating, most of them for the first time in their lives! The weather cooperated on Thursday, so after our visit to Business Gate center, we headed out for a hearty tour of Karviná, visiting the town square or Lodičky area in the castle park. For lunch, the students learnt how to prepare their first Czech dish - crispy potato pancakes.

On Friday, the enrolment of students took place at the faculty, together with a short briefing on the faculty's information systems and services for international students. In the afternoon, students hit the gym for a volleyball tournament. Welcome Days are successfully over and we wish all the students good luck with their studies, many valuable experiences and a rich student life!
