Join the conference: Economic and Societal Challenges of the European Economy

Hosted by the Rector of Silesian University in Opava, Associate Professor Tomáš Gongol, and the Dean of the School of Business Administration in Karviná, Associate Professor Roman Šperka, an international scientific conference focusing on current challenges of the European economy will take place on May 20–21, 2025. The conference will be held at Chateau Petrovice in Petrovice u Karviné, with financial support from the Statutory City of Karviná.

The School of Business Administration in Karviná, part of the Silesian University in Opava, is organizing an international scientific conference titled  Economic and Societal Challenges of the European Economy. This conference continues the tradition of expert meetings focused on the economic policies of EU member states and reflects the current situation in both the European and global economies. Its aim is not only to discuss the current state of the European economy but also to analyze its future development and the potential challenges it will face.

Conference participants can choose between two discussion formats: thematic round tables or traditional sessions with scientific research presentations.

The conference will take place on 20–21 May, 2025, at Chateau Petrovice in Petrovice u Karviné.

    Important Dates:

    • Registration and abstract submission: by March 21, 2025
    • Payment of the participation fee: by April 25, 2025
    • Notification of abstract acceptance (if applicable): by April 4, 2025
    • Submission of the full paper (if required): by June 30, 2025
    • Notification of full paper acceptance: by August 21, 2025
