Project Train-e-Hotel – the final meeting in Nitra

The international partners of the project Innovation of the professional training of future tourism experts using a fictitious training hotel coordinated by the Slovak institution Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (SK), Dept of Tourism at the Faculty of Central European Studies, met in Nitra to summarize and evaluate the output of the project, plan its potential renewal as well as participate in lectures delivered by famous Slovak personalities (A. Juriga, J, Kubaĺa and M. Čuridlo) operating in the area of tourism education and its practical application.

The project involved 5 European universities located in Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. In their reports, partner universities emphasized enforcing of new methods in entrepreneurial education comprised in European educational policy developing skills related to initiative and entrepreneurship, which should include creativity, innovation and risk-taking, as well as management in the area of tourism.

During last 3 years, project tasks were solved by the Dept of Tourism and Leisure Activities at the School of Business Administration in Karviná, Silesian University in Opava, mainly focusing on Business Plans, Intercultural Communication, Intercultural Marketing, Environmental Strategy, and Information Systems in Tourism within the fictitious hotel.

The project partners have agreed on continuing of the project involving new partner universities from Cyprus, Poland and Slovenia and submitting an application for the renewal in Hungary.
