The ALIVE Employee Card is an international multifunctional school staff identification card issued in countries where the GTS Alive Group operates.
It serves as an identity card and proof of employment at the Silesian University in Opava. It is recognized in the Czech Republic and abroad and entitles the holder to discounts within the international network of ISIC contractual partners..
The condition for obtaining (and maintaining validity) of the ALIVE Employee Card is employment in a non-academic position at the Silesian University in Opava.

You can also use the ALIVE Employee Card in a digital version through the Alive App mobile application. In the app, you will find a list of ISIC contractual partners where you can enjoy discounts, including points on the map showing theirnearby locations. The digital ISIC card activated in the Alive App allows you to avail discounts just like its plastic version. Additionally, the application provides information about the validity period of the license. However, for proving identity and access via readers on university premises, it is currently necessary to use exclusively the plastic version of this card.
Activation of the ALIVE Employee Card in the Alive app
- The card can be activated in the app after its plastic version has been produced, which is
- either ready for pick-up at the distribution point,
- or you have already picked it up from the distribution point and the card is in circulation.
- Download the Alive App.
- In the app, enter the license number assigned to your ALIVE Employee Card, which you can find
- after logging in to the card portal at karty.slu.cz in the "My Card" or "Moje karta" section,
- or on your plastic card as the card number.
Validity of the ALIVE Employee Card
- Electronic validity in Silesian University systems
- The ALIVE Employee Card is electronically valid for the entire duration of employment at the Silesian University. During this time, the holder's identity and employment duration can be confirmed by presenting the card to an electronic reader. Additionally, the ALIVE Employee Card can be used for the purposes described in The usage of your ID card section.
- Visual validity of the ALIVE Employee Card:
- Visual validity serves to verify the card's validity in situations where an electronic reader is not available. Visual validity is indicated on the plastic card or revalidation sticker.
- The period of visual validity of the ALIVE Employee Card is limited to a maximum of 16 months. It begins no earlier than September 1 and ends on December 31 of the following calendar year.
- The visual validity of the ALIVE Employee Card can be extended by an employee of the card center at one of the distribution points by affixing an ALIVE revalidation sticker. The issuance of the revalidation sticker is subject to payment of the revalidation fee (see ALIVE License Validity below).
- ALIVE License Validity
- A valid license is necessary to avail benefits and discounts associated with the ALIVE Employee Card at ISIC contractual partners.
- The basic validity of the license is stated on the plastic version of the card as Validity, while the renewed validity of the license is indicated in the Alive App and, in the case of the plastic card, on the revalidation sticker.
- The license validity can be renewed annually for the duration of employment by paying the revalidation fee. The process of renewing validity (revalidation) is described in the section "Validity Extension".
- The renewal of the validity of the digital version of your ALIVE Employee Card in the Alive App will occur automatically after the payment is received by the university (usually within 2 days of the fee payment).
- The visual validity of the license for the plastic version of the ALIVE Employee Card can be renewed by an employee of the card center at one of the distribution points by affixing an ALIVE revalidation sticker to the back of the card. The issuance of the revalidation sticker is subject to payment of the revalidation fee.
- Please note that the validity of the ALIVE Employee Card expires on the date of termination of employment, regardless of whether the corresponding license or revalidation fee has been paid for the respective period!
