STARS EU - Stars EU

The STrategic Alliance for Regional TranSition is an alliance of nine European universities dedicated to preparing future generations for the digitalisation and automatisation of society. The alliance focuses on inter-regional collaboration and exchange of ideas, people and innovation within both educational and research fields.

Since its origin, the alliance has created successful cooperation between its partners and has established cooperation structures (Curriculum and Challenge Labs, Regional Transition Accelerator, Experts’ Teams) and Thematic Interest Groups (TIGs), envisioning regional development and regionally connected cooperation of universities with a goal of obtaining and maintaining the status of European University.

To motivate the establishment of a collaboration between European higher education institutions and to fortify their existing partnerships, the European Council decided to support the creation of European Universities. These transitional alliances unify institutions across the continent with a vision of not only promoting joint values but also the promise of a refinement of the educational and research system. The stance of a European University is highly focused on general excellence and sustainability, aiming for complex and constant development of European higher education.
