Discounts are provided by merchants at the locations listed in the discount database at www.isic.cz. Merchant locations are marked with an informational sticker at the entrance or cashier. Discounts can also be found in the Alive App, including on the map of the nearest area.
The discount is offered from the selling prices of goods or services (unless otherwise specified by the merchant, discounts for ISIC/ALIVE/ITIC cardholders cannot be combined with other discounts simultaneously).
Types of discounts
There are several types of discounts that you can encounter with merchants:
- 10%, 20%, 50%, etc. - percentage discount - reduction of the selling price of goods or services by a certain percentage.
- 2 for 1 or 3 for 2 - exclusive offer - the cheaper of the two, or three, purchased products is not charged during payment (if the products have the same price, as determined by the merchant).
- 2+1 - the third product is free for every two paid products (the cheapest of all three).
- special price - reduced price for ISIC/ALIVE/ITIC cardholders.
- special offer - an offer where the cardholder receives, for example, a gift with a purchase over a certain financial value.
The exact specification of discounts is provided in the discount database at www.isic.cz or will be communicated upon request by the specific provider.
Discount Database
- is a unique list/overview of all discounts that you can obtain with a valid ISIC/ALIVE/ITIC card in the Czech Republic.
- The international discount database with profiles of individual countries is located at www.isic.org
- Discounts can also be found in the Alive App, including on the map of the nearest area.
Conditions for obtaining discounts
Discounts may only be granted to holders of a valid ISIC/ALIVE/ITIC card.
- Discounts can be used repeatedly. Any rules limiting the frequency of use are determined by individual merchants themselves.
- The cardholder is obliged to inform the merchant of their intention to use the discount before starting to use the service or purchasing goods. A later request for a discount may be refused by the merchant.
Verification when using discounts
The merchant is authorized to verify (before, during, and after purchase) the validity of the cardholder for the use of discounts in the following ways:
- visual inspection of the photo and validity of the card for the given day
- electronic verification of the card's validity for the given day (via chip reader or scanning the QR code of the virtual card in the Alive App)
Discount Guide "Where to Get Discounts with ISIC/ITIC/ALIVE"
- The "Where to Get Discounts" discount guide is an annually issued informational brochure, which is received by every new ISIC/ALIVE/ITIC cardholder along with their newly issued card. You will receive the brochure at one of the distribution points.
