These pages are dedicated to the identification card system as one of the university's information subsystems. They provide practical and continuously updated information regarding student, employee, and graduate cards.
What is a student, employee, and graduate card?
It is a chip-based identification card issued by the Silesian University in Opava to its students, employees, and graduates. The card is established based on an electronic application.
The cards are equipped with the following information:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Photograph
- Date of Birth
- Visual validity or license validity (in the case of ISIC, ITIC, ALIVE cards)
- Card number or license number (in the case of ISIC, ITIC, ALIVE cards)
According to the wording of Act No. 111/1998 Coll. (§57), the student card is proof of study at a university. This document confirms the legal status of the student, which entitles them to use the rights and benefits of a student arising from legal regulations or internal regulations of the university.
According to Article 9 (1) of the Study and Examination Regulations of the Silesian University in Opava in the full version valid from September 1, 2013, the student is obliged to prove themselves with a valid student card bearing a current photograph. In the case of students, the issuance of the card is mandatory!
