The identification card is a student's proof and evidence of enrollment at the university. This document confirms the legal status of the student, entitling them to exercise the rights and benefits of a student as stipulated by legal regulations or internal regulations of the Silesian University.

Within the premises of the Silesian University, the card primarily serves to unambiguously identify its holder. You may be asked to present the card, especially during study checks, tests and exams, as well as when entering buildings, libraries, and dormitories. In the case of students, the issuance of the card is mandatory!

Furthermore, the identification card serves the following purposes:

For access through sensors and turnstiles

  • to the building of the Rectorate on Olbrichova street in Opava
  • to the building and classrooms of Faculty of Public Policies on Bezručovo náměstí 14 in Opava
  • to the University Library in the building of School of Business Administration Na Vyhlídce in Karviná
  • to the main building of School of Business Administration on the University Square in Karviná
  • to classrooms in the buildings of School of Business Administration on the University Square in Karviná and in the buildings of  Rectorate on Olbrichova Street in Opava
  • to the server room, classrooms R1 and R2 and the offices of the Mathematical Institute in the building of the Rectorate on Na Rybníčku street in Opava

For quick automatic identification via sensors

  • in the University Library (implemented by interconnection with IS Tritius)
  • for the attendance system of rectorate employees (implemented by interconnection with BIS4)

For printing, copying and scanning

  • in the University Library in the building on Masaryk Street in Opava
  • in the main building of the School of Business Administration (University Square)

Another

  • To claim discounts on subsidized meals at buffets or contracted restaurant facilities.
  • When paying at the School of Business Administration cash desk
  • Licensed cards such as ISIC, ITIC, and ALIVE serve as international identification for university students, teachers, or employees and for availing relevant discounts.
  • Other accesses (to dormitories, buildings, classrooms, server rooms, warehouses, libraries, garages, spinning wheels, opening barriers, etc.)
