This is a basic type of student card without the benefits provided by licensed cards.
It serves as an identity card and proof of study at the Silesian University in Opava. Within the territory of the Czech Republic, it entitles the holder to discounts associated with student status (such as in transportation).

Validity of the STUDENT card
- Electronic validity in Silesian University systems
- The STUDENT card is electronically valid for the entire duration of the study. During this period, the holder's identity and duration of study can be confirmed by presenting the card to an electronic reader. Additionally, the STUDENT card can be used for the purposes described in the The usage of your ID card section.
- Visual validity of the STUDENT card
- Visual validity serves to verify the validity of the card in situations where an electronic reader is not available. Visual validity is indicated as information on the plastic card or on the revalidation sticker.
- The period of visual validity for the STUDENT card is limited to one academic year. It starts no earlier than September 1st and ends on August 31st of the following calendar year.
- The visual validity of the STUDENT card can be extended by a staff member of the card center at one of the distribution points by affixing a revalidation sticker. The issuance of the revalidation sticker is subject to the duration of study, and for the STUDENT card, it is free of charge.
