About the Institute
Provides instruction in the study programme General Nurse in both full-time and part-time form of study. Up to 50% of the study is professional work experience. Contract partners who provide students with practical education count 36 health and social facilities primarily in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The best students have the opportunity to attend practical classes also at the University Hospital in Prague-Motol or professional internships in a top Czech medical facility, the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) in Prague.

Educational Centre of the Institute of Paramedical Health Studies
The training centre focuses on the area of disease prevention. It offers engaged professionals and the general public with information on healthy lifestyles, prevention of cardiovascular diseases and cancer, and the possibilities of providing nursing care at home. The center organizes and implements first aid courses, participates in the organization of the World Kidney Day in cooperation with the Municipal Hospital in Ostrava and the World Hand Hygiene Day together with the Silesian Hospital in Opava. Twice a year, it joins other departments of the Faculty to organize Prevention Days at the Upper Square and the Breda department store in Opava.
