SPECIAL EDUCATION (bachelor)

The graduate will be able to:

  • enumerate key policy documents and legislative provisions guaranteeing the process of school and social integration of people with physical, psychological and social disabilities and disadvantages
  • describe the symptoms of disability in the context of educational and social communication
  • apply communication strategies and approaches in practice in the context of educational and social communication
  • apply the process patterns of counselling services in relevant areas of practice
  • implement the process of indicative special education diagnostics to optimize the comprehensive development of persons with physical, psychological and social disabilities
  • design basic constructions of inclusive education conditions
  • find useful sources of information for the purposes of application of modified methods and forms as part of working with children and pupils with special educational needs as an assistant teacher
  • prepare and professionally lead special-pedagogical training, preventive, educational and motivational programmes for personal development of people with physical, psychological or social disabilities
  • use the knowledge of other disciplines in multilateral special education intervention activities to describe, analyze, interpret and evaluate typical special-pedagogical phenomena and situations
  • adequately reflect the special needs of persons with physical, psychological and social disabilities and disadvantages
  • modify approaches in order to eliminate demotivating effects and factors of the learning process 

Labour-market employment:

  •          as pedagogical assistant or personal assistants in primary schools for pupils with special educational needs

  •          as special education teachers or pedagogical assistants in kindergartens

  •           as educators in special schools education schools and educational facilities for pupils with special educational needs 

  •           in homes for people with disabilities, in social service facilities or non-profit organizations
