The Faculty of Public Policies of Silesian University in Opava is a research-oriented academic institution with a strong focus on applied, interdisciplinary, and socially relevant research. Our work connects social sciences with health studies, education, psychology, public administration, and social policy, with a shared commitment to improving quality of life, public services, and inclusive social systems.

Our key research areas include:

  • social and demographic challenges in public policy,
  • public health, prevention, and health literacy,
  • social and health dimensions of quality of life,
  • support for children, families, and communities,
  • inclusive and supportive educational approaches.

Research at the faculty is closely linked to professional practice and regional, national, and international needs. We actively publish in international journals, develop applied outputs such as policy briefs and methodologies, and engage in national and European research programmes.

We welcome collaboration with academic partners, research institutions, public authorities, NGOs, and professionals from practice. Opportunities include joint research projects, comparative studies, co-authored publications, grant applications, and participation in international research networks.
