The aim of the study is to provide the students with deeper comprehension of the Central European administrative and social-economic systems in the Central Europe with their transformations in the context of the European integration processes as well as relations with neighbouring regions. The emphasis is put on the theoretical-methodological constituents of the study, analysis of the main processes influencing the socio-economic and national composition of the Central European society in modern times, analysis of transformations of public administration, creation of public policies and provision of public services in the Visegrad group countries after 1989.
The particularity of the joint field of study lays in the general view on the socio-economic development in the Central European region including the public administration and selected public policies in the countries of theVisegrad group, their analyses.
The interdisciplinary nature and thematic character of the field of study enable the students to meet with the opinions of the experts from various countries, and the approaches of the Czech and Slovak pedagogues are enlarged by the view of two visiting experts from Hungary and Poland who have already worked at both faculties (prof. Halász) or at one of them (prof. Heffner). Another particularity is the fact that the students will have the opportunity to get acquainted with different approaches and ways of dealing with common as well as specific problems of the Central European region and a conception of creation and implementation of public policies and various forms of international cooperation in natural setting of national companies, with their traditions, mentality and culture. A specific contribution of the joint study programme will be that the students will be thoroughly presented, within the particular polices, the situation in the Czech and Slovak Republic, and in the frame of the study stay they will become acquainted with practical solving of the issue in the individual countries and in neighbouring regions.
