The ombudsman – the University defender of rights is an independent body established to ensure the protection of the rights of staff and students. Their primary mission is to provide assistance to staff and students in resolving problems related to working or studying at the University to ensure equal and fair treatment at the University. The position of an ombudsman was only established as part of the HR Award process when the position was defined within the internal quality assurance and assessment system. The first university ombudsman is Mgr.  Marek Timko, Ph.D.
