Ceremonial Closing of Academic Year for the University of the Third Age at SBA
On June 24, 2024, the academic year 2023/2024 for the University of the Third Age was ceremonially concluded in the Big Hall of the School of Business Administration. To the sound of ceremonial fanfares, attendees entered accompanied by their family members and loved ones. Following them were representatives of the university and faculty management, academic staff, and other guests, who attended the formal presentation of certificates for the successful completion of lecture cycles and educational courses of the University of the Third Age.

Deepening cooperation in Çanakkale, Turkey
From May 16 to 17, 2024, representatives from the management and all departments of the School of Business Administration in Karviná (SU OPF) participated in the 9th annual International Scientific Conference on Business Administration. This year's conference was organized by our partner Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Çanakkale, Turkey. Our participation included presenting the results of our scientific research activities and meetings with the leadership of the Turkish Faculty of Social Sciences. The theme of this year's conference was Sustainable Future: Harnessing Digital Innovations for Tomorrow's Challenges.

Completion of the first May Sports Challenge
In May 2024, the first edition of the sports challenge "OPFka Sportuje" took place, with eleven teams and a total of thirty-three participants joining in. Teams competed in various sports, including running, walking, and cycling. The goal was to accumulate as many kilometers as possible for their team. The challenge was very successful, achieving great results.

Watch out for the Noctilucent Clouds
Last week the chillingly beautiful Noctilucent clouds could be observed from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The phenomenon most often appears in our skies in the weeks around the summer solstice, which occurs in less than a week.

After more than 4 years since the initial idea and 2 years of actively running the Inovativní podnikání study program, which is based on the Finnish educational concept Team Academy, we have obtained official international certification from Tiimiakatemia Global Oy.

Across the summer evening sky, low over the northwest horizon, we can look for the periodic comet 13P/Olbers in the coming months. The comet has returned to the inner Solar System after 68 long years.
