STARS EU educational events: STARS Talks, BIP, and Open Science / Open Data

April marks the beginning of exciting opportunities to enrich knowledge with three upcoming events organized by STARS EU: STARS Talks, Blended Intensive Program of Pedagogical Innovation (teacher-to-teacher), and Open Science and Open Data training sessions. These events will provide valuable insights and learning experiences for attendees looking to expand their horizons. All mentioned events will be held in English.

STARS Talks

STARS EU Challenge Lab is launching STARS Talks, a series of monthly webinars given by specialists from different areas of knowledge linked to the STARS EU alliance and featuring innovative projects with the potential to support regional development. Each webinar includes a short lecture on the chosen topic by the guest speaker, after which the session will be open for dialogue and interaction.

First webinars have already been scheduled:

17 April, María José Ferreira (Portuguese Footwear Research Center): "Portuguese footwear cluster – Innovative green materials, processes and products".

15 May, Mikael Ericsson (University West, Sweden): "Sustainable Industry – A New Thematic Interest Group".

19 June, José Sigut Saavedra (Universidad de La Laguna (ULL): "Medical Diagnosis using Artificial Intelligence – Application to Retinal Images".

Blended intensive program of Pedagogical Innovation – From teachers to teachers 

Educators from STARS EU universities have come together to develop a Blended Intensive Program (BIP) for their academic peers across all nine partner institutions. This initiative aims to encourage cooperation and the exchange of effective strategies in innovative teaching and pedagogical techniques.

Open Science and Open Data Training Sessions

Promoting open science is one of STARS EU's priorities and is part of Work Package 8 of the project. For this reason, this online training program, divided into four sessions of two hours each, has been created and is open to administrative staff involved in open science / open data, researchers, and academic staff.

I – Research data management in the context of Open Science

II – Fundamentals of Research Data Management in the Context of Open Science. FAIR data. Legal and ethical aspects in the processing of research data. Store your data and ensure its security

III – Plan the Management of your research data. Creation of research data management plans. Data management during project execution. Working with your data

 

Session III (120 minutes) 24 April, 10:00 a.m. CEST
