The documentary film Jurij Tarča: Iron Will took second place in the Adventure and Extreme Sports Film category at the International Outdoor Film Festival. Announced live on TV Noe on Saturday 13 December, the award was accepted by the film's director Kryštof Kovařík and script editor and production manager Monika Horsáková.

The movie chronicles the first ever Triple Deca Continuous triathlon, in which participants completed 114 kilometres of swimming, 5,400 kilometres of cycling and 1,266 kilometres of running. Jurij Tarča finished second after 888 hours (37 days). He is currently the only Czech to have successfully completed a Triple Deca Continuous triathlon.

“During the race, he literally had to fight windmills. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. The organisation, timekeeping, health... Nevertheless, Jurij prevailed and proved that you can win even when fighting windmills,” says Monika Horsáková. “'The film not only follows Jurij’s extraordinary athletic performance, but also showcases the unique ultra-triathlon community,” adds Kryštof Kovařík.

Further screenings of the film are scheduled to take place in Vsetín, Jánské Lázně, and Ostrava, with discussions featuring the filmmakers and Jurij Tarča himself.
