The main goal of preventive measures and subsequent individual or group interventions is to promote academic success among students at Silesian University. This is achieved by preventing academic failure, improving access to education, breaking down potential barriers, especially for disadvantaged students, and, ultimately, supporting a positive graduation rate (student success rate). The Advisory Center provides a range of counselling services designed to support student success, all of which are based on a well-developed concept.
Selected interventions to support academic success:
- comprehensive advice and information to applicants regarding the structure, specifics, and study schedule of their courses
- consultation within the teaching process
- counselling (preventive x follow-up, individual x group)
- support seminars and workshops
- motivational factors (scholarships, grants, internships, placements, projects)
- promotion of studies to students and representatives of high schools
- adaptation courses and competitions

Consultations on supporting academic success are available by appointment from Monday to Friday. These appointments can be made via phone or email and will take place at the Advisory Center, located at 625/25 Olbrichova Street. The Advisory Center is accessible by lift from the backyard and is located on the first floor.
