CONSENT TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
By giving this consent to the processing of personal data you are giving your consent to Silesian University in Opava, Reg. No.: 47813059, with its head office at Na Rybníčku 626/1, 746 01 Opava (hereinafter the “administrator”), to process your personal data under the conditions given hereunder.
Extent of processing of your personal data
The administrator will process your personal data in the extent that you provided it in the context of the marketing activities of the administrator, namely by signing up for e-mail communication. The administrator will process the name, surname and e-mail address.
Purpose of processing your personal data
The administrator will process your personal data for the purposes of direct marketing (i.e. offering the products and services of the administrator or sharing e-mail invitations for official international alumni events organized by the administrator or national agencies and related offers, but not however those of other third parties) including sending commercial communications in the sense of Act No. 480/2004 Coll., on Certain Information Society Services and analyses of your behaviour concerning these commercial communications for the purpose of sending personalised offers.
Legal basis of processing of personal data
The legal basis of this processing is your consent and the fact that your personal data are essential for the fulfilling of the individual purposes of direct marketing, which you have opted to subscribe to. Personal data are processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation – Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council (EU) 2016/679 dated 27/4/2016 - (hereinafter GDPR).
Period for which your personal data will be processed
The administrator will process your personal data for the purposes of direct marketing, for a period of 10 years from the granting of consent to the administrator for the sending of e-mail newsletters or invitations for official international alumni events organized by the administrator or national agencies and related offers, provided you do not withdraw this consent.
Withdrawal of consent to the processing of personal data
At any time you can free of charge withdraw your voluntarily granted consent to the processing of personal data, by sending an e-mail to the address: gdpr-dpo@slu.cz. Withdrawal of consent is also possible directly by sending a simple reply to the email invitation or offer you received. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the legality of processing resulting from consent before its withdrawal. Withdrawal of consent also does not influence the processing of personal data which the administrator processes on a legal basis other than consent.
People with access to your personal data
The administrator and its employees will have access to your personal data.

You can contact the administrator by e-mail at: gdpr-dpo@slu.cz or in writing to the address of the administrator (Na Rybníčku 626/1, 746 01 Opava). The administrator is authorised to request that you prove your identity for the purpose of restricting access by unauthorised people to your personal data. For the purpose of improving the quality of services and keeping a record of compliance with legal obligations by the administrator, any communications between you and the administrator can be monitored.

Your rights in regard to the protection of your personal data
You have the right, without being threatened with any kind of sanction or disadvantage, at any time to withdraw your consent, to correct or supplement your personal data, to require restrictions on the processing, to raise an objection or complaint against the processing of personal data, to request the transfer of data or to have access to your personal data, by sending notice to the electronic address gdpr-dpo@slu.cz. You also have the right to be informed of any breach in the security of personal data or its deletion and you have further rights set down in the GDPR.
The right to raise an objection
You have the right to raise an objection against the processing of your personal data, if the administrator processes it for the purposes of direct marketing. The objection must be submitted to the administrator. In the case that you raise an objection against processing for the purposes of direct marketing, the administrator will no longer process the personal data in that extent, unless they demonstrate justified reasons for processing which outweigh your interests or rights and freedoms or for the determining, exercising or defending of legal claims. Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory office
At any time you may submit a complaint concerning the processing of your personal data or non-fulfilment of the duties of the administrator arising from the GDPR to the supervisory office. In the Czech Republic the supervisory office is the Office for Personal Data Protection, with its head office at Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, www.uoou.cz.
The duty to provide personal data. Consequences of not providing personal data
You provide your personal data entirely voluntarily. You have no duty to provide it. In the case that you do not provide your personal data, you are not threatened by any sanctions. Nonetheless if you do not provide the administrator with personal data, they will not be able to send you individual commercial communications for which you subscribe (for example without your e-mail address the administrator will not be able to send a newsletter or an invitation to a course or event). It is however entirely up to you whether you wish to receive these communications or not.
