Each of the 52 episodes focuses on one of the key topics of audiovisual production: from lighting and cameras to editing, post-production, sound, and technology, to production work and equipment..The short video formats, ranging from 40 to 65 seconds in length, are primarily educational in nature, but they also feature lightheartedness, humor, and irony. „The students enjoyed filming, finding both exaggeration and humor in it. For some topics, the explanations may be simplified, but that is also part of the intention—to open up discussion and draw viewers into the action,“ says the project manager.
The project took more than three months to film. Some videos had to be re-shot because the author was initially trying to find a balance between preparation and improvisation. „In the end, it turned out that a precise script worked better—the presenters were then able to work with clear text and focus on their expression and natural delivery,“ Hrodek describes in his work. The result is an authentic and lively series that clearly explains the principles of multimedia creation to a wide audience.
However, the Ememté series is not just a collection of videos. The project also includes a design manual that summarizes the visual identity and creative methodology so that other students can seamlessly continue the work. Another series of videos is expected to be created in the summer semester, building on the successful concept.
„t's great that we have such comprehensive material in the form of short videos that can attract potential students and present our field at the same time. The project has enormous scope—it connects teaching, practice, and student creativity,“ adds Ivana Martáková, a production supervisor.
The Ememté series thus represents a new way of introducing young creators to the world of audiovisual media. At the same time, it shows that multimedia design students not only master modern communication tools, but also know how to use them to inspire and teach others—with humor, perspective, and professional results.
