STARS EU rectors and presidents gather in Groningen to celebrate the 225th anniversary of Hanze University

On Tuesday September 5th all Rectors, Presidents, and members of the Steering Committee of the STARS EU alliance attended the celebration of the 225th anniversary of Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, The Netherlands.

The special event with a theme «You matter!» was honoured by the presence of Her Majesty Queen Máxima, who emphasized the importance of every talent and its chance of development, and stressed the crucial aspect of finding student’s own rhythm. In her speech, the Queen called ‘students, teachers and researchers the pillars of a vital society.’

Apart from the ceremonial occasion, the partners of the alliance also gathered to discuss the launching of the European Commission-funded programme fallowing the EU 2023 call. The event was enriched by a visit of the Digital Society Hub (DSH) of Hanze UAS, a digital & physical learning community that connects skilled experts from business, research and educational spheres. These multidisciplinary teams work on new products and applications in the field of 5G, Big Data or E-Health, while utilising modern technologies.
