The conference was opened by Daniel Stavárek, Vice Rector of Silesian University for Science and International Relations, who highlighted the importance of the conference and was pleased to welcome more than 30 domestic and international participants to Karviná. The conference featured distinguished speakers, the first keynote lecture entitled "The Recent Inflation Surge: Lessons for Monetary Policy Conduct" was presented by Tomáš Holub, Member of the Bank Board of the Czech National Bank. He gave a detailed review of the period of high inflation, the CNB's actions and commented on the expected developments in the coming months. The second keynote speaker was Giovanni Cerruli from the Italian Research Institute on Sustainable Economic Growth, whose presentation on "Optimal policy learning: how data-driven policy-making will transform social, economic and financial policies" showed the possible future of data-driven economic policy decision-making.
