Before the start of each semester, the faculty holds Welcome Days (WD) for new international students, which traditionally kick off introductions, getting to know new people and environments, and most importantly, fun for our new students.

From 14th to 16th February, Welcome Days took place, this year again with the help of our international buddy team, where both Czech and foreign students participate in volunteering, as they had the opportunity to experience the integration process first-hand and can therefore advise new students very well in the beginning. The Buddy Team in the summer semester consists of 28 students in total. During the WD we have welcomed so far new international students (within the Erasmus+ programme as well as degree students of the follow-up Master's programme Economics and Management) from India, Egypt, Spain, Greece, Romania, etc. We are continuously coordinating these days the arrivals of other international students who will join the students for the summer semester.

Excursions to the surrounding areas and an entertainment programme are not to be missed at any Welcome Days. On Wednesday, February 14th, we had to celebrate Valentine's Day together, and how else but in our favorite neighboring town - Těšín, a town located on the territory of two countries. The students tried one of our traditional winter sports - ice skating, and also enjoyed a traditional meal at a local restaurant. Thursday morning was dedicated to introducing students to the faculty and the faculty information systems. In the afternoon, the students got together and bowled. On Friday, students got to know Karviná in an unconventional way - by searching for treasure! The students were randomly divided into two teams and had to navigate around the city using only a paper map with no cell phones allowed. The first team to find the treasure after completing the tasks on the route around Karviná won a voucher for refreshments at the local Bokovka bistro. Welcome Days are successfully over and we wish the students many valuable experiences in Karviná and a rich student life!
