In the field of research, the department focuses on current social issues
relevant to the area of study. The aim is to contribute to a deeper
understanding of the causes, early development, and manifestation of socially
undesirable behaviour, including forecasting trends and exploring ways to
prevent or reduce associated risks.
The department actively participates in national and international
research projects, and intends to launch a long-term research
study focused on the professional careers of graduates from the Social
Pathology and Prevention study programme.
The department’s academic profile is further developed through project-based
activities, including involvement in ESF-funded projects and others.
Currently, the department maintains active collaboration with several foreign
universities, especially in Slovakia, with a focus on joint lectures and
academic publishing.
The aim of cooperation with partner institutions is to enhance students’ professional
competencies, reinforce theoretical knowledge, and
provide practical experience through internships, professional
placements, or voluntary work. Partner organizations may also benefit from continuing
education programmes offered by the university, participate in joint
projects, and engage in research, academic, and publishing activities.
