On May 18 and 19, 2021, our faculty organized a traditional meeting of students of the Rzeszów University of Technology, the Faculty of Management, and the Silesian University in Opava, the School of Business Administration in Karviná. This time the students from the Faculty of Economics of the MBU in Banská Bystrica joined our event.

It was already the sixteenth meeting within this “International Student Seminar on Management and Financial Issues”. For the second time, the event took place completely online in MS Teams. The students thus lost the traditional cultural program, and the focus was shifted to the quality of the professional program. The event was attended by 31 students from many countries, such as Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, and India. Our faculty was represented by a group of 14 students of all forms of study. The event was organized within the ISIP university project "Sharing research activities of SU OPF students in an international environment", whose researcher is dr. Stoklasa, in cooperation with the International Relations Office.

Students presented their projects, seminar or diploma theses in English within a time limit of 10 minutes, with subsequent discussion with the jury. Contributions were from many areas, such as marketing, information technology, finance, management and other social science disciplines. Many thanks to the expert jury, which consisted of: dr. Dalibor Šimek, dr. Martin Klepek, dr. Pavel Adámek, Ing. Daniel Kvíčala, dr. Hajduk-Stelmachowicz, dr. Pawel Perz, dr. Paulina Bełch, and the main organizer and moderator of the event dr. Michal Stoklasa. The aim of these joint seminars is to strengthen students' presentation competencies and enable students to acquire professional terminology in English, improve their presentation skills and, last but not least, the ability to respond to additional questions of the expert jury.

The seminar is traditionally organized as a competition and it ended with a ceremonial presentation of awards to the best. In addition to the scholarship for participation (for eligible students), they also competed for prizes worth CZK 16,000. The decision was not easy for the international jury this time either. Our student Nicolas Sendrei won first place with his contribution "Can Bitcoin replace the U.S. Dollar?". Second place went to Izabela Lazurová from MBU with the presentation "The Possibilities of Tourism Development in the Destination Zemplínska Šírava ". Third place belongs to Natalia Siorek from Rzeszow with her contribution "Less or more? About savings during pandemic". And the fourth place belonged to our student Ayub Mohammed with the contribution "Trends of Financial Services in India-Online Banks OR Traditional Banks OR Multi-Channel Distributions". This year we also had a new Student Award, where students from Poland Andrzej Siuda and Krzysztof Strzępek won with their contribution "Artificial intelligence in optimization of crop planning". Congratulations to the medallists and thanks to all involved. We look forward to seeing you at the next event.

Nicolas Sendrei: "Thank you once again for such an amazing event, I'm greatly honored that my presentation was that succesfull and chosen to be the best. The level of participants is only getting better and better, which is great! See you next time (hopefully in person)."
