On 26 - 29 November 2019, a traditional meeting of students of Politechnika Rzeszowska, Faculty of Management and Silesian University in Opava, School of Business Administration in Karviná was held at the School of Business Administration in Karviná. This year, for the first time, the Faculty of Economics of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica became an official partner.

It was the 14th meeting of the International Student Seminar, officially entitled International Student Seminar on Management and Financial Issues, this time attended by more than 30 students from many countries - Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, India, France, China and Uzbekistan. The Karviná Faculty was represented by a group of 17 students of all forms of study. The event was organized by the Department of International Relations in cooperation with the Department of Business Economics and Management within the framework of the ISIP university project “Sharing research activities of SU SBA students in an international environment” whose principal investigator is Dr Stoklasa.

Students presented their projects, seminar or diploma theses in English within the time limit, with contributions from many areas such as marketing, information technology, finance, management and other social sciences. The aim of these joint seminars is to strengthen students' language competencies and to enable students to acquire professional terminology in English, their presentation skills and, last but not least, their ability to respond to additional questions from the audience. As part of the seminar, an entertaining program is organized for students. This time we had the opportunity to jump on the trampolines in the Ostrava HopJump Arena, and then dine in Karviná in the Ovečka restaurant.

The seminar is traditionally organized as a competition and it was concluded by the awarding ceremony for the best. It was not very easy to make a decision for the international jury even this time. The first place was shared between students from Rzeszów Maciej Ozimek and Wojciech Sajdak, with the contribution "Student's expectations and plans related to the national job market". The second place went to our Erasmus + student Gaëlle Mazué with a contribution of "French culture". Our student Matěj Kuba came third with the contribution “The future of energy”. Congratulations to the medalists and thank you to all participants.

This years winners wrote about our event: „Thank you for your hospitality in Karvina. We had a great time (the attractions were amazing) and the seminar was organized at a very high level. The presentations were great and thank you for recognizing ours as the best. We hope to see you in Poland next year. ”~ Wojtek Sajdak & Maciej Ozimek.
