September 13-16, 2022, representatives of the International Relations Office visited one of the biggest European conferences on international higher education and university exhibition organised by the EAIE (European Association for International Education).

The venue for this year's conference was Fira Barcelona Gran Via. After two "covid" years, the event was again held in person, with a record number of participants (6300+) from over 90 countries. The theme of this year's conference was "The Future in Full Colour". How to "paint" a vibrant and inclusive picture of our common future, using a wide range of internationalisation tools? This was the question that internationalisation experts tried to answer during inspiring workshops, plenary sessions and networking events organised in parallel with Europe's largest university fair.

Collaboration, diversity and openness - EAIE is the place where universities and other international education organisations establish partnerships, raise their profile and meet international higher education professionals and partner universities. This year's fair in Barcelona featured more than 200 exhibitors, including the national stand "Study in the Czech Republic" with representatives from 22 Czech universities.

SU SBA has been developing international cooperation thanks to the EAIE exhibition since 2016. At meetings with representatives of partner universities (Oberlin University/Japan, University of La Laguna/Spain, Saxion University of Applied Sciences and HANZE University of Applied Sciences/Netherlands), further joint activities were discussed this year. The possibility of establishing cooperation within the Erasmus+ programme was also discussed with the Norwegian Kristiania University College, the Spanish University of Malaga and the German Harz University of Applied Sciences. Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, discussions were also held with the Brazilian Santa Catarina State University.

Student & staff mobility and joint international projects are key for the further development of our faculty. We believe that the newly formed partnerships will enrich the possibilities of abroad stays and bring new impulses to our future activities.
