From 27 to 28 November 2018, a traditional meeting of students from Rzeszow University of Technology, Faculty of Management and Silesian University in Opava, School of Business Administration in Karvina was held on the ground of SBA. It was already the tenth meeting within this International Student Seminar focused on management, finance, marketing, and other economic disciplines. This time more than 20 students from several countries - Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, and India - took part. SBA was represented by a group of 17 students of all forms of study. The event took place within the framework of the ISIP project "Sharing Research Activities of SU SBA Students in the International Environment", whose researcher is Assoc. Prof. Šperka.

The students presented their seminar papers or theses in English for 10 minutes and then discussed the papers. The aim of these joint seminars is to strengthen English terminology whilst acquiring presentation skills and, last but not least, being able to respond to supplementary questions raised by the audience. The seminar was designed as a competition for the best papers, which ended with the award ceremony for the best speakers. It should be added that the quality of all papers was high and it was not an easy task for the committee to evaluate the results of the competition.

From the point of view of SBA, it is very pleasing that our students have achieved great success in strong competition, and although they have not won, they certainly have not let us down. The Vice-Dean for Foreign Relations Assoc. Prof. Šperka conferred personally the certificate on two representatives of the Polish University, Jakub Stawarz and Michał Mnich, who gave their presentation on "Analysis of key challenges for the social insurance system in Poland". Our student Eva Pitrunová took the 2nd place, and brought the committee round with her paper of "Product protective brands in the online world". The third place was awarded to an Indian student doing the Business Economics and Management degree course in English at SBA - Porathukaran Luiz Benoy, who attracted a professional committee with his E-commerce paper. Congratulations to all the winners, and let us thank for all who have participated. After the end of the professional part of the seminar program, a rich cultural program was prepared for all participants, including a visit to Laser Games and the City Hall in Ostrava, where the students looked at the frozen city of Ostrava. The next seminar will be held in Rzeszow in April 2019 - follow posters and announcements in faculty social networks where applications will be published.
