The process of internationalization at School of Business Administration in Karviná involves optimization of contacts with partner universities where Czech students can study for a semester or two, improving their specialist knowledge, developing their language skills, strengthening their self-confidence in multicultural skills, and networking.
Between November 19 and 23, 2018 two staff members of the International Relations Office A. Rusinová and R. Unucková, and a member of the Dept of Tourism and Leisure Activities K. Heinz visited Karadeniz Technical University in Trabzon, Turkey. The goal of the visit was related to overcoming administrative, educational and communication problems occurring in the relationship as well as developing networking strategies leading to an increase in the number of both the incoming and outgoing students.
KTU established in 1955 is a state university with a long tradition, being the fourth oldest university in Turkey. It has approximately 50,000 students at bachelor, master and PhD levels and has become one of the leading higher education institutions in the country. KTU is situated close to the Black Sea with the main campus located on a picturesque site. Both the airport and bus terminals can be found in the vicinity of the campus. The exchange students are free to select courses in English related to their fields of study from all the departments. They are also offered a basic Turkish course.
KTU offers a wide choice of accommodation options ranging from dormitories to student hostels with the rooms fully furnished and providing cooking facilities. Foreign students are also provided with numerous opportunities related to social, cultural, and sports facilities.
Having agreed on basic steps in the recruitment procedure, both of the international offices warmly recommend the stay in Trabzon as the study there can be an unforgettable experience for Czech outgoing students.
