The study program of
pedagogical-psychological subjects consists of the subjects providing
future teachers, current students of teacher combinations, with basic
knowledge both in pedagogical and in psychological line. The goal of the
studies of the pedagogical-psychological bloc of subjects is to
increase the students’ preparedness for practice of teaching profession
in the pedagogical, psychological and practical-didactic area; therefore
the individual disciplines of the bloc are interconnected in all lines.
The graduate will acquire professional
competences (knowledge, skills, experience) enabling qualified practice
of teaching profession at secondary schools (and, in compliance with Act
on pedagogical workers, the graduate is awarded not only the
professional qualification of secondary-school teacher but also the
qualification of teacher for higher elementary school).
The goal is to provide the students with
knowledge from the area of pedagogy and psychology, indispensable for
direct pedagogical work; an important part of the branch consists also
in didactic preparation indispensable for practice of the
secondary-school teacher’s profession. The graduation from the
subsequent studies will increase the students’ preparedness for practice
of teaching profession in the pedagogical, psychological and
practical-didactic area; the individual disciplines of the bloc are
interconnected in all lines.
The graduates have at the same time good
grasp of the main development trends in education, of the issue of
alternative education concepts and innovative approaches, of the area of
educational policy and school legislation. They are able to create
favourable conditions for learning, to motivate and activate the
students, to create positive emotional and social climate in the class.
They are able to maintain high-quality partner communication not only
with them but also with the parents, colleagues and other social
partners of the school; they are able to cooperate in seeking adequate
ways and strategies for the development of the student and of the school
as a whole. They are also fitted with basic knowledge from the area of
inclusive education in which they can engage in their practice. They are
able to reflect their own teaching activities, to present, explain,
argue for their teaching concept.
The graduates from the studies of the pedagogical-psychological bloc will acquire the following competences:
- expert subject competences,
- psychological competences allowing the graduates understand better and approach better the individuality of each pupil,
- pedagogical-didactic-psychological competences allowing the teachers

The graduates can apply the acquired
pedagogical, psychological and didactic knowledge and skills not only as
teachers at secondary schools but also in other professions, e.g. as
pedagogical workers in leisure time institutions, educational agencies,
in some selected professional institutions like consulting centres, etc.
